This is the 4th Ocean Initiatives to be held on Mt Clérigo.
In this time we have created enough plastic to weigh twice as much as all the people on earth.
As well as cleaning the beach this event is to raise awareness about plastic pollution, as our oceans are turning into plastic soup….
This year Surfrider are wanting to spread their message “Rise Above Plastics”
In the hope that people can start to “Rethink & REFUSE” single use plastic. As re-cycling is not a solution to this fast growing pollution.
Over 70 people collected plastic & other rubbish last year. Lets hope 2012 will be just as big!
