Following discussions with the St Vincent de Paul Society in Aljezur, Amovate is buying bedding and blankets to the value of €200 for distribution to some of the area’s neediest families.
The Society has also asked us to make it known not just to our members but also to the people of Vale da Telha—already well respected by the local Portuguese population for its generosity to good causes—that they would greatly appreciate further donations in this regard.
Apparently there is a real need right across the district for warm, clean bedding, sheets, blankets, duvets, pillows, pillow cases to be distributed to families who simply do not have these basic essentials for making their lives more comfortable.

As you may already know Amovate and Sarah and John’s Vale da Telha.eu website has been working with the bank and the local school to make sure none of the most needy children goes without a present.
In that respect we have made monies from our Charity Fund available to this very special good cause.

Not only are the 20 plus books donated by Amovate going to needy children but the Bank Staff who have also supplied books have asked if it was possible for these to also go in the name of Amovate, which of course the President agreed.
But please, everyone, keep up the good work doing what you are doing—the more of us working to give these families a decent Christmas the better.
Following an appeal by the St Vincent De Paul Society we are also arranging for the purchase of a new washing machine which will be sourced from a local Aljezur business and presented to the Society to use as they wish.
