September 14 & 15 – ‘All the riches of the world’ – Music, song and dance to celebrate the adventures of the 16th-Century Portuguese Discoverers.

September 14, 10am to 12noon – Dance Workshop, 16th-Century courtly dances.

September 14, 3pm to 5pm – Singing Workshop, Songs from Africa, India and Islam.

September 15, 5pm onwards – Final Public Concert with soloists, dancers and instrumentalists, workshop participants and the Aljezur International Choir.

Feriado Municipal de Aljezur,

Saúdo de uma forma fraterna,

Todas e todos os Aljezurenses, que ao longo das várias décadas têm contribuído, para o desenvolvimento do nosso concelho, tornando-o mais atrativo, mais inclusivo, com mais e melhores condições para todos os que cá vivem, trabalham, ou o procuram para as suas férias. 

Vivemos tempos complexos, onde os princípios da solidariedade, fraternidade e o cuidado pelo próximo, assim como as questões ambientais, nos convocam para uma responsabilidade cada vez mais exigente, cada vez maior. O futuro dos nossos filhos, dos nossos netos, o NOSSO FUTURO, depende de como estamos nesta sociedade, mais conscientes que os nossos atos podem influenciar o presente, mas sobretudo o futuro. 

Quero neste dia, que marca o início das Comemorações do Feriado do Município de Aljezur, com a Noite A, festa multicultural de Aljezur e com o dia do Município – 29 de Agosto, saudar e convidar todas e todos os Aljezurenses, para se juntarem a estas comemorações. Dia de festa, de comemoração, de encontro, mas também dia de continuarmos a trabalhar e a melhorar, o que Aljezur tem de melhor para oferecer, nas mais variadas áreas. 

Uma palavra especial a todo o movimento associativo e seus dirigentes, às várias entidades públicas representadas no nosso território, às empresas e empresário que apostam no Concelho e nas suas potencialidades. A todas as entidades públicas e privadas com quem mantemos relações de cooperação e colaboração, a essas um cumprimento especial.

Aos Trabalhadores da Câmara Municipal, que ao longo do ano desenvolvem o seu trabalho, para mais e melhor servir, um reconhecimento pela dedicação e empenho, na sua missão.

Aos colegas do executivo Municipal, assim como aos vários executivos das juntas de Freguesia do Concelho, Aljezur, Bordeira Odeceixe e Rogil, como aos respetivos membros das Assembleia Municipal e Assembleias de Freguesia, uma palavra de reconhecimento e agradecimento, ao mesmo tempo de desafio, para que deem o melhor de si, para o bem do nosso concelho, e acima de tudo colocar o superior interesse da defesa do desenvolvimento do Concelho de Aljezur e das suas populações.

I greet in a compatriots way,
All the Aljezurenses, who over the decades have contributed to
the development of our municipality, making it more attractive, more inclusive, with
more and better conditions for all who live, work, or seek vacation.
We live in complex times, where the principles of solidarity, fraternity and the
care for others, as well as environmental issues, call us to a increasingly demanding responsibility,
increasing. The future of our children, of our grandchildren, OUR FUTURE, depends on how we are in
this society, more aware that our actions can influence the present, but especially the future.
I want this day, which marks the beginning of the holiday celebrations of the Municipality of
Aljezur, with Night A, Aljezur’s multicultural festival and the City Day – 29 de August, welcome and
invite all Aljezurenses to join these celebrations. Day of celebration, celebration, date, but also day to
continue to work and improve, what Aljezur has to offer more varied areas.
A special word to all the associative movement and its leaders, to the various public entities represented
in our territory, companies and entrepreneurs who have faith with the Council and its potential. To all
public entities and with whom we have cooperative and collaborative relations, to these a special greeting.
To the City Council Workers, who throughout the year develop their
work, for more and better service, recognition for their dedication and commitment,
in your mission.
To the colleagues of the Municipal Executive, as well as to the various executives of the
Parish, Aljezur, Bordeira, Odeceixe and Rogil, as their respective members of the Municipal Assembly
and Parish Assemblies, a word of recognition and appreciation, at the same time challenging, to give best
of you, for the good of our county, and above all put the superior
interest in defending the development of the Municipality of Aljezur and its population.
