Council of Minister Communique 10th September – Situation of Contingency

1.The Council of Ministers adopted today the resolution declaring the contingency situation throughout the continental national territory in the context of the COVID-19 disease pandemic, from 00h00 on 15 September 2020 until 23h59 on 30 September 2020.

Thus, and taking into account the growth of new daily cases of contagion of the disease, the beginning of the school year and the expected increase of people in circulation, namely in public transport in areas with high population density:

The contingency regime in force for the Metropolitan Area of Lisbon will now apply to the whole of continental Portugal:

Limitation of gatherings to 10 people, unless belonging to the same household, on public roads and in establishments;

– Ban on the sale of alcoholic beverages in service areas or at petrol stations;

– Prohibition of the sale of alcoholic beverages from 20h00 in retail outlets, including supermarkets and hypermarkets;

– Prohibition of the consumption of alcoholic beverages in outdoor areas of restaurants and beverages after 20h00, except during meal service;

– Application to the whole national territory of the option to grant, as a rule, to the mayor of the territory concerned the power to set the opening hours of establishments in their geographical area, although within certain limits – from 20h00 to 23h00 – and with the favourable opinion of the local health authority and security forces.

– In restaurants, cafes and pastries 300m from schools, a maximum limit of 4 persons per group is imposed, unless they belong to the same household;

– In shopping centre catering areas, the same limit of 4 persons per group is defined;

– Setting up district rapid intervention teams to contain and stabilise outbreaks in homes;

– Specific rules for the organisation of work are established in the metropolitan areas of Lisbon and Porto, determining the obligation to adopt measures to prevent and mitigate the risks arising from the pandemic, such as scales of worker turnover between the teleworking regime and the work done in the usual workplace, and staggered work hours.”

Aljezur Municipal Day

The Aljezur Câmara will celebrate their Municipal Day in a slightly different way this year.

Due to Covid 19, the Câmara will be supplying Sardines for the general public on a basis of “pick up and take away” to cook at home.

 There will be several stop off points for the Câmara to supply, and the Old School House at Vales is the place for Vale da Telha and surrounding places.

Sardines will be available to collect between the hours of 11.00 and 13.00 on Saturday 29th August.

Each person will be given a quota of approx. 6 sardines and the normal queueing system as in shops will take place. Masks must be worn…..also sanitizer will be available.

 Make sure you go and get your lunch and please pass this message on to your friends and neighbours.

Fibre Optic Broadband

UPDATE: reference Fibre Optics, we are happy to inform you that we have had a good response from MEO customers with more than 100 clients who are interested in being able to have this service.  We have now passed this information onto our contact and hopefully we will have more information soon.  We are aware that there are still many people that we contacted who are yet to respond;  it’s not too late so please do not hesitate to furnish us with the details as per our original message / email (below).

Further to our original post below we have had quite a few responses which is very pleasing but we are aware that there are Residents here in VDT that might not read our web page and or Facebook Page, so we ask that maybe you pass this information onto your friends and or neighbours who might well have an interest in a Fibre Optic System.
Amovate are hoping to ‘ride on the back’ of CHESTERTONS ESTATE AGENTS (www.chestertons-portugal.com,  matt@chestertons-portugal.com)who being forward thinking are going down the fibre optic route.  They are having it installed here on the Pines Roundabout very soon as an aid for their business and customers.
Amovate are hoping to have a serious discussion with MEO concerning Fibre Optic Broadband in Vale da Telha.
If you have a MEO account and would be interested in having this service, please make contact by email on info@amovate.com giving your Name, Fiscal number and Lote Number. (MEO prefer the fiscal number to search and access the contracts already held with them).
We have no meeting booked at present but know through one of our committee members that they require the information to judge whether it would be beneficial to the company to move forward.
Maybe light at the end of the tunnel after all.
