Results – February Society Day

In difficult windy conditions the VDT Golf Society enjoyed another day out at the Alamos Course, Portamão. With many members away, only 3 groups of 4 met the challenge and afterwards, enjoyed a fantastic meal at Restaurante Fonte do Vale especially themed for Valentine’s Day.

Our thanks go to Sofia and her team for a great evening.

Information – Meeting with the Câmara 12 Feb

Information on 12^th February Câmara Meeting concerning Vale Da Telha residents/Homeowners

Amovate President and Vice President Matt Darcy and Ian Bedford met this week with the President of the Câmara José Gonçalves and Executive member Antonio Carvalho to discuss the content of the above Meeting as advertised.

It was stressed that this meeting was for the Câmara to give information on several subjects regarding the current situation, and not a platform for debate which will come later when Public Consultation time is allowed.

There will be someone present to translate into English, as the content will be in Portuguese. The meeting will happen in Espaço + close to the Social Security Office in Rua da Escola, Aljezur starting at 18h00.

The following will be the subjects, and the Câmara will be bringing the team now working on the VDT plans, the lawyer of the Municipality, and the Director of the department of urbanism, and they will give the outline procedure and time scales.

Important help required

In the past week Amovate have sent out notification to all people we have on our data base which includes Amovate Members, Amovate Post Box Holders, Tennis and Golf Society Members informing them of important meetings that are about to happen in the next 2 weeks. However we have had several returned as the email address we have is either incorrect or has been changed.

If you fall into any of the above categories and have not received emails from us in the past week please email info@amovate.com with your Name and email address so that our information can be corrected.

Any details Amovate has on the data base is never passed onto a third party and only used to make contact with information. Portuguese Lessons-Update

**Filipa has suspended her Portuguese Lessons for some time due to personal reasons.**

Filipa is a Portuguese national and is interested in teaching Portuguese to anyone interested and has done this before but in Mexico.
Therefore she has a structured curriculum and her plan is to start lessons in January on a Tuesday afternoon between 2pm and 4pm at the Amovate. This is dependant on getting at least 3 people wanting to learn Portuguese.

Update – Important Meetings

The Câmara has now advised us that the meeting on the 7th February has been moved to 12th February due to circumstances beyond their control. Same time – 18:00h, same place – Espaço + (next to the Social Security Office). Apologies for the changes.

Amovate have had confirmation of two very important Meetings taking place in February.

Firstly, Aljezur Câmara are inviting Residents of Vale Da Telha to a Meeting at the Espaço + (near the Social Security Offices) in Aljezur on the 7^th February at 18.00h. At this meeting the Camâra are proposing to update the residents of VDT as to the future proposals for the area.
The Second Meeting on the 19^th February at 15.00h is for British Expats. Staff of the British Consulate, will attend and endeavour to give information about Brexit. This Meeting is also at the Espaço + (near the Social Security Offices) in Aljezur.

The Câmara intend to have printed hand outs confirming these meetings, and these will be available at Amovate at The Old School House, and local Café/Restaurants very shortly.
