Summer Party – Pastelaria do Parque – 27th August

In aid of Madrugada Serious Illness Charity

The Summer Fair Committee will be hosting ‘Festa de Verão’ at Pastelaria Do Parque on Saturday 27 August 2011 from 2pm in aid of Madrugada Serious Illness Charity with Arts and Crafts stalls, Novelty Games, Prize Raffle, music and more.

If you are ‘crafty’ and would like a stall to sell your wares please contact  kimwassell5757@yahoo.co.uk or call into Pastelaria Do Parque for more details.

The organisers would also welcome any donations for prizes and for a ‘White Elephant’ stall – they can be handed in at Pastelaria Do Parque.

Volunteers to help with the organisation of the event are very welcome.

Bob’s Extra Keep Fit Classes Stop for the Summer

Bob’s Extra Keep Fit Classes, which are usually held on a Thursday 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm & Saturday morning 11:00 am – 12:00 are being suspended for the summer period.  He plans to re-start these extra Gym sessions some time in October.  Please check the website for start dates.

Burnt Out Vehicle in Sector E

An Amovate Member wrote to us to ask if there was anything that could be done about this burnt out vehicle which has been left outside his property.

The details were forwarded to Sgt. Gabriel and the same day we received the following response from a representative of the Aljezur Camara:

“The Vehicle announced in the email has been under investigation from Policia Judiciaria, so there was no authorization to remove it from where it was.

We have now received the information, at the beginning of this week, from Policia Judiciaria that the investigations has just finished.

We have already sent a message asking the owner of this vehicle to remove as quickly as possible, otherwise we will notify him and tax him.”

We hope that this matter will be brought to a conclusion as soon as possible, and that this unsightly eyesore is removed.

Still Time to Donate Cups / Mugs !!

We have had the following mail from Michelle Cassar who is trying to collect mugs & cups for use at local events, in an effort to reduce the “Sea of Plastic” which is usually left behind afterwards.

Just to let you know.  So far people have kindly donated 17 mugs for this Sunday´s Arrifana Sunset Fest.  So they will cover some of the musicians…  We need more!  There is still a few days to drop them off. & there are still FREE TICKETS AVAILABLE!

& don´t forget, bring your own mug on the night for A FREE Sagres.

The 123 sent me a PDF of the article that was in last weeks paper, for anyone who missed it in the shops & would like a look.

I have seen another event happening in Vale Da Telha later in the month, I will chat to the organisers & hopefully these mugs will make their way there after. So they could save many many plastic cups… With thanks,
