Vale da Telha resident Leni Eves, a member of the Portuguese Branch of the Royal British Legion, has asked us to let everyone know that the annual Remembrance Service at Aljezur cemetery will take place this year on Sunday November 15th at 11am.
As many of you will already know the cemetery is the final resting place of seven members of the German Luftwaffe whose plane was shot down by an RAF Beaufighter over the cliffs at Atalaia Point, between Monte Clerigo and Arrifana on July 9 1943.
As always, the service is for all nationalities and Leni says everyone is welcome—Portuguese, English and German will be spoken and hymns will be performed by the Aljezur International Choir
