Weekly Walks | Amovate

The Walking Striders Group days are Mondays and Fridays

Monday walks are generally just over 2 hours, and Friday walks often just under 2 hours.

Everyone, (all nationalities) are very welcome.

We meet at Amovate — the Old School House in Vales — at 9am, for local walks. Sometimes we travel by car for walks around the Aljezur area, most times incorporating a coffee stop at a local cafe. Occasionally we extend the social gathering to include lunch or a picnic.

Grupo Amovate de Caminhadas “Walking Striders”

Informamos que os dias de caminhada do grupo “Walking Striders” são 2ª e 6ª-feiras.

As caminhadas de 2ª têm geralmente uma duração menor do que 2 horas, e na 6ª geralmente um pouco mais de 2 horas.

Todas as nacionalidades são muito bem-vindas!

Encontramo-nos na Casa da Escola Velha em Vales as 9hr para passeios locais. Por vezes, deslocamo-nos de carro para passeios pela zona de Aljezur, muitas vezes fazemos uma paragem bem merecida num café para conversas e descanso! Às vezes ficamos para almoçar ou fazer um piquenique juntos.

Cumprimos sempre os regulamentos relativmente ao covid-19.

Update for WALKERS

During the summer months June to September the walking group start @ 9.00am from the Amovate School House every Tuesday & Friday.

Our walks vary from 9kms to 14kms usually around the ALJEZUR area – occasionally we walk the coasts down as far as Sagres & up in the Monchique area These particular walks are always posted on the AMOVATE notice board @ the school house

On Tuesdays we walk for a couple of hours around the hills, valleys, cliffs and woods of Vale da Telha and the surrounding area.

On Fridays we do a three hour walk, often travelling for up to half an hour outside the immeadiate area. About once a month we go further afield – perhaps to Monchique or Burgau and have lunch together afterwards.

Photos taken on a walk along the cliffs from Burgau to Porto de Mos ……. – and on a visit to Sir Cliff Richard’s vinyard which was organised for the walking group on 26th July.We made arrangements to meet up for lunch beforehand. What we did not know was that someone in the group who is a friend of his family had arranged for him to meet us all for lunch!!……..
