Next Society Day – 10th June – Alamos
January Golf day was a surprise start to the year, -1 degrees at the course on arrival and a total white out so start was delayed by 40 minutes.
Only 11 people played, but the weather warmed and it was 16 degrees in the sun by the time we turned to play the back nine.
We are still uncertain whether we will be able to play in February, as the course is awaiting direction as it’s unclear at the moment, but watch this space.
Brian Parker was presented with the Annual Championship Trophy for players with handicaps between 0-23, with the top average score on his best 6 outings of 31.55
Jeremy Verling will receive his trophy for the players with a handicap 24 and above with an average for his best 6 outings of 35.5
The results of the January golf day are below:
Winner Paul Rushmere 38 points
2nd Norman Glendinning 37 points
3rd Brian Parker 31 points
Secret Pairs on back nine
Below are the results of yesterday’s golf, unfortunately played in very damp conditions.
The weather was not great it certainly affected the players as the scores reflect.
Not the best way to end a years golf and of course the dreaded Covid meant we missed two outings….so onwards and upwards to 2021.
Our current Chairman is standing down from his position and will wallow in just being a player. Thanks Jeremy for all your work in ensuring that the Society continues and is getting the best deals possible. A well earned rest unless Marion finds extra work to fill those times spent on golf to decorating the new home in Lagos.
Thanks to all our members for the support this year and a very Merry Christmas to you all and a Happy New Year.
