June Society Day

Our June event on June 9th features “Duffers Day” sponsored by Tom & Liam. So an excellent turnout is called for.

‰  Balls lying on stones may be picked & dropped no nearer the hole on a playable surface

‰  Balls lying in mud/water on the fairway may be picked, cleaned & placed no nearer the hole

‰  Balls in waterlogged bunkers may be picked and dropped no nearer the hole

‰  Rake & Place in wet or unraked bunkers

‰  Should your Group fall behind the players in front, please follow the instructions of your Group Leader

‰  Espiche – should a ball land in the scrub and is not playable (the case almost every time) then treat as a Lateral Water hazard.

  1. Members are welcome to invite Guests
  2. Green Fee reductions have now been negotiated with the majority of local Golf Clubs, including Penina, the Pestana Group, and Morgado/Alamos
  3. No Gimmes – please putt out
  4. Please ensure that you fill in your playing card with your name, date, handicap and ensure that it is signed by both your marker and yourself.
Competition Information
Submit cards with Gross score – the competition panel will determine the Stableford score

 

Duffers Day competition notes

On the Par3 and Par 5 holes, should a player fail to score any Stableford Points then they will given a score depending their handicap. So if a player gets 2 shots on a hole then their gross score for the hole will be Par + 4. If a player gets 1 shot then their gross score for the hole will be Par + 3.

April Society Day

Could those members wishing to play on April 21st let us know. Due to the state of the Alamos course in March we have received a reduction in the April charge by €10 a head.

I played the course on March21st and it had improved from our society day though there was room for further improvement.
