The Results for the recent Society Day at Morgado.

In first place with a Society equaling best score this season was Bjorn Boman with 41 points, well done Bjorn, he was closely followed by Dave Quinton on 37 and Sharon Dickens on 36 points well done to all you’ve made Ron a happy man.

Other notable scores were Tom Evans and Steve Cox on 34 points, Chris Dickens 33, Liam Byrne 32 and Ron Ellis 31 points Respectfully.

Longest drive went to Chris Dickens.

Best aggregate score on hidden Holes Bjorn Boman 15 points.

Hidden fourball went to Sharon Dickens, Roel Pluim, Bob Cavanagh and Rick Hursthouse.

Our next Society is at Parque Da Florista on Thursday 11 May, and will be played as a Texas Scramble, I look forward to seeing you all there on the day.

I would firstly like to thank Ian Bedford for sponsoring the tournament on behalf of all the Society members for yet another great day at Morgado and the Fonte Vale Da Tehla.

The tournament was played in fine weather with a sometimes strong breeze to make the course a bit more challenging, but despite this some fantastic scoring took place, Steve Scott in Particular 43 points well done Steve, with Bjorn Boman and Rick Hursthouse hot on his heels with 39 points apiece… well done guys.

Yet again we had a great day out at the Alamos, the weather was great but the course was very challenging after our recent spell of bad weather, overall it was a good test of our golfing skills with no run on often wet fairways and fast greens, which I thought were in great condition for this time of year.

The overall winner with a score of 31 points was Rick Hursthouse well done Rick, second place was Jeremy Verling with 29 points.

The longest Drive went to Steve Young at the 14th hole, and nearest the hole at the 7th was not claimed.

The best team score of 108 points went to Manni Pinto and Iain Hill.

Best three hidden Holes on the front nine with 10 points was Ian Bedford.

Best three hidden Holes on the back nine with 9 points was Liam Byrne.

Well done to every one who won a prize and to all who took part, and I hope everybody enjoyed the day and the weather.

The next completion will take place on Thursday the 9th of March and features our Beddy’s Birthday Bash, I hope we have a big turnout for what will be nothing short of a memorable days golf and social event.
