RBL Poppy Picnic – 27th June

RBL PicnicTHE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION PORTUGAL BRANCH

In Support of the Royal British Legion there will be a Garden Poppy Picnic, held at Casa Grande in Burgau. Everyone is welcome to come and join us. Don’t forget to bring a blanket or cushion to sit on! Oh! Did we mention; there will be a Summer Fancy Hat Competition? This will be held in 3 categories – Men/Women/Children

On the 27th June 2015 from 2 – 6 pm

Entrance fee 3 € for Adults & 1 € for Children (over the age of 4), (your entrance ticket, will also count as a raffle ticket). There will be a Cake Stall; White Elephant Stall; and Face painting. Various competitions including – Name the doll; Count the peas in the jar; Guess the weight of the cake; Raffle; Prize Bingo; and a Fun Quiz. Refreshments will be available to purchase, including Cream Teas, Hot Dogs and much, much more. Aljezur International School Spring Fair – 16th May

From the Aljezur International School:

We are holding our annual Spring Fair on Saturday 16th May. It is shaping up to be the best event yet, with an amazing selection of stalls selling all sorts of crafts, jewellery, paintings, food, drink and other treats. There will also be Capoeira demonstrations, performances by our students and talks on sustainability, as well as games and face-painting for young children. The highlight of the day will be a performance by world music band, Yemadas.

First British Legion West Coast Luncheon

1st Luncheon Of The Royal British Legion Western Algarve Branch (3)The Algarve Branch of the Royal British Legion (Portugal) held their first-ever west coast luncheon last week in Aljezur.

Members (some of them newly-recruited former service personnel) and guests enjoyed the afternoon on the terrace of the Pont’a Pe Restaurant in Aljezur, overlooking the Rio de Aljezur.

Organiser Sue Howe declared: “It was a lovely opportunity to extend the reach of the RBL here in Portugal along the West Coast and we had a very good turnout.

“Members old a new had a terrific time, and apparently the laughter could be heard echoing from the lower terrace, right up to the street above.1st Luncheon Of The Royal British Legion Western Algarve Branch (1)

There will also be a lunch for the Central Algarve branch at the Holiday Inn, Armacao de Pera on Wednesday 20th May which again is open to RBL members, and non members alike, with no extra charge for non members.
