Bob’s New Keep Fit Classes – Now Started!

Feeling a bit sluggish?

Worried about getting back into the same size bikini as last year?

Thinking that with the extortionate cost of buying fuel for the car it might be best to start walking to the local shops, bars, restaurants but wondering whether your fitness is up to it?

Don’t get downhearted—get FIT!

Amovate already has a thriving Keep Fit club organised by Bob Packham at the Old Schoolhouse, which meets twice weekly for a 10-15 minute aerobic workout followed by circuit training in sessions lasting no more than a total of one hour.

There is room, incidentally, for more people who’d like to join in—the classes are held on Mondays at 11.30am—12.30pm and Wednesdays from 11am-12 noon and cost €2.50 per session.

Bob’s new gym at Amovate opened on Thursday and opened not with a bang, more of an apologetic cough.

Five people turned up to use the new fitness facilities in the first of the gym sessions created and supervised by Bob Packham.

Those who did turn up were enthusiastic about the wide range of equipment and the lay-out, and plan to use it on a regular basis.

And Bob, ever the optimist whose cheerful ‘glass is half full, not half empty’ philosophy endears him to all who know him is convinced that more people will begin turning up once word gets around.

These pictures were taken at that first session and although they show plenty of empty space in the room set aside for the gym sessions they also show not just how well Bob has fitted out and arranged the space, but also the quality of the kit he has supplied via his Keep Fit classes.

These include two excellent cross-training machines, two exercise bikes, tread machines, weights and weights bench, rowing machine, steps, etc; plenty to keep you going.

Bob has pledged to keep the new sessions going for the foreseeable future and the next one will take place on Saturday from 11am to 12 noon.

Thereafter the gym will be available each Saturday and on every Thursday from 6pm to 7pm.

So, let’s just hope that Bob’s enthusiasm, and that of those who attended the first session will rub off on more people as time goes by.

You can just turn up, sign in, pay your €2.50, and use the equipment at your own pace, unless you want Bob to monitor your progress and give advice.

Beverages such as tea (bags), coffee (instant), water, beer, soft drinks etc will be available.

So, if you are not sure whether it’s for you or not, come along anyway, have a look and a chat over a drink and make up your own mind…

Incidentally, if anyone has any gym or exercise equipment of a decent quality that they no longer use, or which is lying forgotten at the back of your garage or garden shed, why not donate it to Amovate where it will find a good home and be put to good use.

Just give Bob a ring on 91 796 1555 and he’ll arrange to have it collected.

**Incidentally, Bob points out that as next Monday, April 25th is not just Easter Monday, but is also a Bank Holiday here in Portugal, the 11.30 am Keep Fit class has been postponed. Wednesday’s class will go ahead as normal at 11am.
