PORTUGAL – NEW EMERGENCY CARD INTRODUCED TO IMPROVE COMMUNICATION BETWEEN FOREIGNERS, AUTHORITIES AND MEDICAL TEAMS

EMERGENCY TEAMS PLEASE SHARE AND UPLOAD

To improve the communication process with the Authorities and emergency medical services, Association Safe Communities Portugal has developed an “emergency identification card” for tourists and foreign residents in Portugal, but that can be carried by any national citizen.

KEY FEATURES:
1.Free of charge
2. Developed with INEM and security forces and recognised by them
3. In English and Portuguese
4. Easy to download from official websites – no waiting time
5. Easy to update
6. No data privacy issues

The Emergency Card does not replace any official identification documents, but is intended to serve as an additional source of information that contains specific data such as medication, allergies, current illnesses and information about the Authorities of the citizens’ countries of origin, whom it may be necessary to establish direct contact, in case of emergencies where the card holder is a victim.

In collaboration with the GNR, PSP and INEM Safe Communities Portugal Association sought to respond to a need identified by the foreign community in Portugal, making available in a single document of personal and health data that may be useful to medical teams and Authorities in an emergency situation, such as a road accident or major catastrophes.

The document in English and Portuguese is available for download on the websites of Safe Communities Portugal INEM and Security Forces, and will be made known to foreign communities in Portugal through their respective embassies.

Results – November Society Day

Great Fun Day at Morgado with 3 teams of 4 playing Texas Scramble with a slight twist.

In fine weather the three teams battled to win the top prize and also keep an eye on the weather as rain was promised.
Winners were Brian Parker’s Team who’s members were, Neil McKiver, Reg Balmforth and Ian Bedford with a fine score of 42 points
Runners up were Steve Bossom’s Team with Bjorn Bowman, Alan James and Jeremy Verling with 35 points
Third were Bob Cavanagh’s Team with David Quinton, Ron Ellis and Les Medcroft with 34 points
All Three Teams playing with a Handicap of 9
And we were lucky enough to beat the rain as it fell heavily whilst leaving the car park.
