Keep Fit

The Keep Fit Club are pleased to announce that they have been able to secure the services of a new trainer to assist in the current set up.

Julia Curphy

Julia Curphey who before moving to Vale Da Telha full time worked for Duncan Bannatyne at his Gym Complex in  Shropshire, She has vast experience in all forms of keep fit formats and is a major asset to the Keep Fit Club.

Julia started her first class this Wednesday and it is fair to say that the variation to the normal set up kept all the participants very active with Aerobics and stretches and muscle toning as well as the use of the now vast array of equipment.

Bob and Ian will continue with the Monday classes and support Julia although she will be looking for further back up for her class.

Keep Fit is at 11.30 Monday and Wednesday for 1 hour and the fee is €2.50 per session.

Any questions please do not hesitate to mail Bob on…bobandsue97@gmail.com or Ian on i.mcbedford@gmail.com

The Keep Fit Club is closed for Summer Recess from 1st August and restarts on Monday the 4th September

Kick Start for the Bombeiros Fund!

Amovate have Donated €200 towards the supply of essential goods needed by the Bomberios to help them fight and be prepared for further fires in the Aljezur region.

This fund also  supports the National Fire Service in times of great need, when they are faced with horrendous fires like the one we have all been reading about in Pedrogao Grande.

An earlier item indicated the sort of things required, and these can be left at the Old School House where they are stored until collection by Sally Henman, the local co-ordinator.

At the Summer Solstice evening at O Paulo’s Restaurant last night, a collection was made, and a further €300 of donations have been passed on to the fund….a fantastic response from the people enjoying a great evening of food and music.

Well done everyone but keep the donations coming…….. they are much needed.

Urgent Appeal for the Bombeiros

Amovate have again been asked to advertise an appeal for the Bombeiros.  This is initially for supplies for the Aljezur Bombeiros, but if their personnel are required to cover other areas, or if another area is desperate for supplies, then these will be used.  Sally Henman is the co-ordinator for the Aljezur Bombeiros, and they will contact her to co-ordinate the dispatch of what and when is required.  If you need to speak to Sally, her number is 927 722 476.

The Aljezur Bombeiros have asked that people DO NOT directly drop off supplies as they have no storage.

Donations of items listed below can be dropped off at the Amovate Old School House in Vales.

  • SMALL Water

  • High Energy Snacks & Drinks

  • Non Perishables

  • Socks

  • Towels
